WALNEY Community Trust, based in Spring Mount, has smashed a fundraising goal to support children’s mental health.
In five months, it had 641 young people access services, and set a £500 goal to help extend activities and raised £1,070.
Ros Harrison, centre manager, said: “We were hoping for about £500 and we’ve stretched the target and got a lot more so we are really pleased. People have really got behind it. We are supporting a lot of young people that are struggling through their mental health through Covid. They might struggle to go to school or to even come out of their house and to interact with other young people. We are doing a lot of one-to-one sessions at the moment and very small group sessions to help them.”
