A SCHEME to support unpaid cares to pursue careers in care home will launch this month.

An innovative pilot scheme, which supports unpaid carers to pursue a career in local care homes, will be launching in Lancashire and South Cumbria this month.

‘Dare to Care’ is a free 12-week training programme that provides unpaid and young carers an opportunity to develop new skills, receive training certificates and build confidence to become a volunteer and potentially job-ready for a career in the care sector.

Two pilot schemes are launching in Fleetwood and Blackpool, and are planned to be rolled out across the whole of Lancashire and South Cumbria.

If you are interested in participating in the scheme or if you would like more information about the programme, you can contact Faye Smith at faye.smith@healthwatchcumbria.co.uk or equally you can call 01524 239100.
