A food-loving couple from the Lake District are championing the region’s artisan producers with the launch of a new gourmet food delivery service.

The idea was conceived at the start of the first Covid lockdown in March 2020, when, returning home from Croatia, Imogen Royall and Matt Kenyon were struck by the impact of the pandemic on local businesses.

Dine in the Lakes launched today and offers a range of luxury food boxes, featuring the finest fare from more than 20 local artisan producers and farmers.

Speaking at the launch, co-founder Imogen said: “When we returned to Windermere last November it was a real bittersweet moment - we were thrilled to be home and reunited with our family but devastated to see the extent of the pandemic’s impact on local businesses.

“It’s been an incredible seven months in the making, and not without its challenges, but we’re so excited to have made our vision a reality and to launch Dine in the Lakes.”

Aidan Monks, co-owner of Lovingly Artisan, said: “When Imy and Matt approached us with the idea of Dine in the Lakes we were blown away by their enthusiasm and ambition to support local producers like ourselves. We couldn’t be more pleased to work together and to invite people to dine in the Lakes.”

Prices range from £35 to £65, with a number of optional finishing touches.

Nationwide delivery is available every Friday, with £1 donated to local Cumbrian charities
