A WOMAN who was previously handed a suspended prison sentence is due to hear her fate after she was convicted of shoplifting.
Lorna Ann Warren is due to be sentenced at Preston Crown Court after she stole an item worth £15 from a supermarket.
Last year she was handed an eight-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months after she drove dangerously in a car she was not permitted to drive in Barrow.
Now, the defendant, of Holborn Hill in Millom, is to be sentenced after she was convicted of stealing a bottle of Baileys from the Tesco supermarket in the town on November 14 last year.
The 38-year-old was given her ‘only chance’ by Recorder Tim Harrington when she was sentenced for dangerous driving, taking a vehicle without consent and driving without insurance or a licence.
The court heard she was seen by a police officer running through a red light on Walney Promenade.
Other vehicles had to take evasive action to avoid colliding with her vehicle.
She was then said to have been pursued by the police officer until eventually she drove straight into the path of an oncoming car, which had to brake to avoid a crash.
