Jet2 has announced it has cancelled all international flights and holidays up to 1 July amid rule changes to the Government’s travel lists.

The budget-friendly airline has suspended its programme from 24 June to 1 July after the travel green list was changed on Thursday (3 June).

While no new countries were added to the UK's green list, Portugal moved over to the amber list meaning Brits in Portugal now face quarantine.

Alex Rayment said: "The Government has a pathetically weak border policy and was criminally irresponsible for lying to people they could have foreign holidays. People travelling abroad means endless restrictions in the UK. We can either keep locked down indefinitely within the UK with the pathetically weak border policies we have now or the Government can actually stop endangering the lives and livelihoods of the British people and enact full hotel quarantines at the borders."

Allison Blakeway said: "It’s nice to see a travel company supporting the decision without moaning - we need to try and protect ourselves from incoming variants."

James Taylor said: "At some point they are going to have to accept they have a problem. That time is now."

Phil Burkeman said: "At some point these things have to be lifted because it just isn't on to keep people locked up in their homes, or in their country. This has to come to an end, and now that the lockdown is ending and the vaccine is underway it just isn't ok to do to people."

Sarah Mannes said: "There goes my holiday plans for next year...oh wait we could never leave anyway."
