New food ordering website Thetakeawaysite.com is set to launch allowing South Lakeland customers to order online swiftly from their favourite local restaurants and takeaways.

The online website currently has 15 local food restaurants and takeaways for you to place your order from with the click of a button, avoiding the dreaded long wait in a call queue.

Founder of the site, Sam Attard started this venture to help out local businesses to save money.

The 24 year old says "Our business values are that we do not have to charge extortionate rates, to produce the same level of quality in all aspects."

Born in Barrow, Sam was inspired by his previous role as business development manager to launch the site.

Sam plans to be the cheapest online food ordering website in the UK offering the cheapest rate of a 5% commission fee with a sign up fee of £250 for partners.

"Other sites have a sign up fee of £699 + VAT up front then 15-20% per order as well as an addtional 50p admin charge.

"With us there are no hidden costs."

Customers can also receive benefits by being in the chance of winning "a golden ticket" to gain a free meal from any onsite partner.

"Our low fees allow us to work alongside our partners to frequently offer discount and deals for the customers."

The company have big aspirations of being nationwide within a year and with backing from nationwide investors - this is even more possible.

"Barrow and the Lake District has a lot of out of town visitors and our site will be an easy option for them to find places to eat breakfast, dinner and tea".
