OFFICERS are urging farmers to take steps to secure their property to avoid incidents of theft.
South Lakes Police is reminding those in the farming community to report any suspicious activity to stamp down on rural crime.
A spokesman said: "That time of year is almost back, the grass needing to be cut and collected. With extended time away from the house/yard please take what steps you can to secure your property. Lock it, light it, film it, report it. Suspicious cars, persons or events, we want to know."
