A HOLLYWOOD movie star has shown his support for the Kendal Calling festival set to take place this summer.

Acting legend David Hasselhoff is encouraging everyone to celebrate Kendal Calling and the heroes who went above and beyond through the Covid pandemic.

In a video shared by the festival on Twitter, the Baywatch star said: "The Kendal Calling festival is supporting heroes and is about all the heroes that save lives in Covid.

"All the heroes that delivered, all the heroes that stopped to help, everyone can be a hero you can be a hero too.

"I played one in  television - one man can make a difference,you could be that person.

"And also I'll be ready from Baywatch. So anyway, to your family and to your friends tell them all to celebrate Kendal Calling."

A spokesman for Kendal Calling said on Twitter: "This year at Kendal Calling, everyone can be a hero! But don't just take it from us, hear it from one of TV's greatest heroes, The Hoff! Join in with our costume contest this week for your chance to win a family pass to this year's festival!"

This year's festival is due to take place between July 29 and August 1.
