A PUBLICAN accused of breaching Covid-19 restrictions is due to stand trial.
Peter Nicholson, of the New Inn in Kendal, is alleged to have held a ‘lock-in’ at his pub on October 17 by remaining open past the 10pm curfew.
It is alleged police officers turned up at the premises in Highgate at 10.40pm and found drinkers inside.
The 63-year-old denies the offence and is to stand trial at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on September 28.
