A STAND Up Paddling (SUP) enthusiast is taking on four mammoth challenges in an effort to break records and raise money.

David Haze, 36, is a consultant for Penal Reform Solutions, who works around reform and rehabilitation in the criminal justice system.

Starting on June 14, David will be touring around the UK on a four day mission to conquer the four longest lakes and attempt to set four world records.

He will start off on Loch Awe in Scotland, before heading to the Lake District to take on Lake Windermere. Then he will move on to Lough Neagh in Northern Ireland before finishing off in Wales' Llyn Tegid.

He said: "I made a pledge that if i hit my target im going to paddle the non tidal River Thames none stop, which would be another world record, its 208km.

"I love doing endurance events, in September I walked 100k in 24 hours, then a couple of months ago I ran four miles every four hours for 48 hours.

"When you push yourself to that limit you are really testing who you are and you learn about your character. That's what I love about these events."

"I am an advocate for rehabilitation, which seems to be a forgotten cause sometimes in this country. Our pasts and mistakes do not define who we are and at times individual need some help and guidance to go on to live positive lives away from crime, which is why I am trying to highlight the importance of reform and rehabilitation.

"I also know the true power of adventure and sport and the Alliance of Sport use the power of sport in the criminal justice to help tackle reform and rehabilitation, two things that I am very passionate about and this is why I am raising money for them."
