SUSTAINABLE homeware stall Deja Nu has opened at Barrow Market.
Owner Sarah Hartlebury said it was ‘amazing’ to finally get her stall up and running after months of preparations.
Sarah decided to open the stall after the success of her homemade craft items gained popularity.
She makes upcycled furniture, jewellery, handmade candles all from recycled and repurposed materials.
Sarah said: “It’s amazing to finally be open.
“I’m hoping to run initiatives in the near future.
“I really want to educate people on how to create treasure from trash.”
Sarah had previously used her home in Dalton to create her items before opening up her market stall.
She said: “There’s been lots of interest from customers already and the market hall team are amazingly supportive.
“Everything on the stall will be at a discount price for the rest of the month to celebrate our opening, so lots of bargains to be had!
“Will also be running an awesome giveaway once we are fully open so keep your eyes peeled!”
Sarah creates recycled candles, jewellery made from discarded metal and even melted bottle tops. She says sustainability drives her love of recycling and reusing materials and invites people to bring along to the stall items they think she might be interested in re-purposing.
She said: “Often I don’t set out with an idea in mind, I get inspired by the items I find.”
