THE family of a baby girl who tragically died is still appealing for donations towards a headstone in her memory.
Nikki Logan’s world turned upside down when medics revealed at her 12-week scan that her unborn child had anencephaly, a serious birth defect where a baby is born without parts of the brain and skull.
Prior to that, the Barrovian had a ‘perfectly healthy’ pregnancy and was shocked to learn that her unborn baby, Lilah-Rose, would not survive.
The 29-year-old was excited to tell her eight-year-old daughter Emily that she was going to be a big sister, never imagining a mother’s worst nightmare would come true.
When Miss Logan found out she was pregnant earlier this year, she began saving up but never expected the tragic expense of paying for a funeral and headstone.
Her sister launched a fundraising page to help raise costs for a headstone which has so far raised £422.
Miss Logan said she would be ‘hugely grateful’ if anyone could donate towards the headstone her daughter ‘really deserves’.
