A Cumbrian mental health campaign led by our region’s sixth formers is sharing tips to help people protect their mental health.

The Share a Smile Tea is a group based in Eden made up of sixth form students from Ullswater Community College, QEGS Penrith, Appleby Grammar School and Kirkby Stephen Grammar School.

It has been working alongside Carlisle Eden Mind, who aim to increase young people and the wider community’s understanding of positive mental health and the impact everyone can have on this by sharing kindness with each other.

Cumbria mental health charity Carlisle Eden Mind expressed its gratitude towards the students while also hailing the message that the students were able to put across to the wider community.

“Earlier in the year, we asked the SAS team members for their top tips on what small things they try to do in their day or week that helps them to protect their mental health and to create a positive change in their day.”

Some of the team shared their ideas of the Power of the Small in the video.

Carlisle Eden Mind added their thanks to the group stating: “We would like to express our thanks to the SAS team.”
