BARROW art collective Art Gene are set to deliver the second instalment of their ‘Armchair Walks’.

The free online event, started last year during the first lockdown, is a chance for people to discover hidden spaces in Barrow.

Armchair Walks are part of the group’s Extreme Views programme, which aims to promote engagement and events around the extreme coastal landscape of Barrow and Furness.

Art Gene director Maddi Nicholson said: “We’re really excited for the start of season two of Armchair Walks. The virtual walks will take people into the unexplored, undiscovered parts of Barrow that are at the heart of our communities. The town is full of small green spaces which people really value and outside of the grander, well-known areas such as Barrow Park, our town has so many other gems that we want to celebrate.”

The online walks will take place in three stages, with the first on Landscape Healing on Tuesday May 18 at 6:00pm.

Maddi said: "There are so many interesting green spaces in Barrow, and we are looking forward to celebrating the ecology and biodiversity of these often overlooked places.”
