HUMAN excrement has been found near a new children’s play park in Ulverston.

Councillor Patricia Jones said human poo, bottles and food had been 'thrown about' at Ford Park.

"It was a disgusting sight to see and it's increasing and will only get worse," she said,

“It's been an ongoing thing for many many years.

"The problem stops then it comes back again.

“It's feral to see young people doing this.

“I see young parents leaving rubbish and not giving a good example to their children so then the kids do it as well."

Addressing a meeting of the town council, she added: “It’s a beautiful park and people have worked very hard in the last few years to get it to this good state.

“Poo has been found in the main park area, that is clearly human, and it's disgusting.

“I don’t know what the legal solution to this is but something has to be done.”

Cllr Mark Wilson said: “Please help us to keep Ford Park clean and safe.

"Take litter home so carry a folded bag in your pocket.”

Cllr Shirley Ann Wilson, chair of trustees for Ford Park Community Group, said: “We are delighted to see you but not your litter.”
