TWO sheriffs will be stepping out across the bay this summer
Both the new High Sheriff of Cumbria, David Beeby, and his predecessor, Julie Barton, will be taking part in a fund-raising walk across the bay.
The event, which had to be cancelled last year due to the pandemic, will take place on July 31 at 10.45am.
Former Sheriff, Julie Barton, from Ulverston, was pleased to see the event finally going ahead.
She said “I’m running it, but I have invited the new sheriff who will also be attending. I am doing this with the support of the new sheriff. It is still going to be for the benefit of charitable organisations through the Cumbria Community Foundation.
“Normally a former high sheriff of Cumbria would not organise this type of event but it will be a great event."
