CREWS on the Royal Windermere Yacht Club’s 17ft Windermere Class yachts have enjoyed their first race in two years.

Staged in near perfect conditions, the first race of its kind was a tremendous success.

With a warm sunshine above and light easterly winds joining the competitors, the Windermere 17 Class’s first race of the season took place on an exciting Saturday.

The race was highly competitive, with the stunning backdrop of the North Lake and fells beyond providing a perfect setting for the race.

At the conclusion of the race Nick Aubrey (‘Atholl’) claimed first place for his own.

In second place was ‘Musetta’ (helmed by Richard Broughton) and then ‘Chameleon’ (helmed by the club’s commodore Nigel Tullett) in third place.
