CRAZY golf, an adventure park and an ice cream parlour are just some of the suggestions made by Barrow pupils to develop an area at Earnse Bay.

After Barrow secured £25million from the Government 's Towns Fund, plans are being put in place on how the town can be developed - and ideas are being sought from some of the youngest minds.

Year Three Pupils at Victoria Academy were invited to Earnse Bay to discuss how the area could benefit from major investment.

Teacher, Joanne Stanway said: "The team at Brilliant Barrow wanted to hear the children's viewpoints on what they'd like the area turned into.

"So they've been set a challenge to share and brainstorm lots of ideas on how the field could be developed.

"They talked about building an adventure park, ice cream parlour, a treasure hunt an outdoor classroom, crazy golf - there was all sorts of amazing ideas to choose from.

"The children are really excited to be involved. They've been working on their ideas in teams and are getting ready to present them to the project leaders in two weeks time.

"It would be amazing if one of their ideas is picked and we can see it come to life.

"I think it's really important to involve children in projects like this because they really think outside the box."
