DUDDON & Furness Mountain Rescue Team are one step closer to their new base at Foxfield thanks to a donation from company Citrus Lime.
The volunteer-run organisation received a cheque for £5,000 donated by Citrus Lime at their offices in Ulverston.
Deputy leader John Wealthall said: “This donation is a fantastic help to bring us closer to our target. Our current site is incredibly rudimentary with nowhere to dry wet clothes after we have been out on a rescue. We’re about £150,000 off our target still so every penny counts. We plan to build a new site with upgraded facilities which will really help the volunteers on their rescue missions as well as provide us with a place to carry out vital training.”
The organisation was formed in 2003 and attends around 35 callouts each year.
