A MOTORIST has been convicted of drink driving following a trial.
Mark Semple, 49, was found guilty of driving more than double the legal limit.
South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court heard the Dalton driver had 74 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood on November 21 - over the legal limit of 35.
Semple, of Eskdale Drive, had denied the offence but was convicted after a trial. He was fined £550 and told to pay a £55 victim surcharge and £600 in costs for the offence.
Magistrates banned him from driving for 20 months.
