A TEENAGE boy was arrested by Cumbria Police in Dalton.

Police arrested the male on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle while over the prescribed limit of cannabis, according to Barrow Police. The police said they stopped a number of youths around Dalton Leisure Centre on Wednesday night.

The male has now been released and is under investigation as police wait for the blood analysis from the roadside drugs test.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Police arrested a 16-year-old male from south Cumbria on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle whilst over the prescribed limit of a specified controlled drug. He has since been released under investigation.

“The arrest took place at around 10pm on the 21st April in the area of Church Street, Dalton.”
