FURTHER patrols have taken place to curb dog-fouling in Barrow.

Patrols have taken place in Barrow Park, Barrow Island, Parkside and Ormsgill with streetcare officers, council officers, PCSO’s and councillors to help tackle incidents of dog-fouling in the town.

Last month, the council began regular patrols of the borough in a new effort to crack down on the crime.

The officers have been offering leaflets and asking walkers if they have enough dog bags with them, providing them to owners who may have been caught short.

Barrow Borough Council also asked residents to not be offended if they are stopped by an officer.

The council is encouraging residents to report as much as information as possible on 01229 876543 or www.barrowbc.gov.uk/report-it.
