An Ulverston store has raised funds for a vital hospice.
The Northern Line, an independent retailer of homeware, gifts and art, has stores in both Ulverston and Windermere.
The team had planned to hold a week-long clearance sale at their Ulverston store, starting on April 12.
Instead, customers looking to support both the business and St Mary’s Hospice in Ulverston managed to clear the shelves in just one day.
They sold all ex-display artwork and end-of-line stock with discounts of up to 70 per cent off.
They donated 10 per cent of sales made during the clearance went to the Ulverston hospice.
Blown away by the response to the fundraising clearance, St Mary’s Hospice thanked those who visited The Northern Line and supported the important cause.
A spokesperson for St Mary’s Hospice said: “A huge thank you to everyone who visited The Northern Line yesterday – you cleared their shelves.
“We received a 10 per cent donation from the sale – enough to pay for two night sits by our Hospice at Home team; what a wonderful gift indeed.
“Thank you to The Northern Line for your loyal and continued support.”
