A WOMAN charged with causing death by dangerous driving is due to stand trial.
Demi-Elise Michaud is alleged to have caused the death of Matthew Craig Brown on the A590.
A trial date has now been set after the defendant appeared at Preston Crown Court.
The 24-year-old defendant, of Blawith, near Ulverston, is alleged to have caused death by driving her Kia Cee’d dangerously on the A590 on November 27 2019.
Mr Brown, from Swarthmoor, was a passenger in a car driving between Backbarrow and Haverthwaite that collided with a bridge on the road.
Police were called to the one-vehicle collision on the bridge at about 1am on the day.
She is due to face a four-day trial at Preston Crown Court on February 28 next year.
The defendant was remanded on bail following an earlier hearing at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court.
