CANDIDATES standing in Barrow Borough Council’s May elections have outlined their plans if they are elected.

By-elections will be held in Hindpool following the resignation of Dave Pidduck and in Roosecote after the death of Rory McClure.

In Hindpool, Niyall Phillips, 26, will represent the Conservatives and Joanne Tyson, 49, is the candidate for Labour.

Mr Phillips, who works in the shipyard, says he wants to build on Hindpool’s community spirit.

Paul Griffiths is Labour’s candidate in Roosecote. and Jay Zaccarini will be the Conservative candidate.
