OVER half of an adult patient population has been vaccinated at a South Cumbria GP surgery.

Bosses at Millom’s Waterloo House Surgery say 65 per cent of its adult patient population have received their first Covid-19 vaccine jab.

Three per cent have received their second dose.

A statement from Waterloo House Surgery said: “We cannot stress enough the importance of this vaccination programme to us all returning to some sort of normality.

"Following the passing of a year milestone since the first national lockdown and the surgery embarking on second Covid vaccine doses for priority groups 1-9, we send special thanks to all surgery staff who have worked so hard through the last 12 months through the pandemic and without who our local Covid vaccination clinics would not be possible. The setting up and staffing of these, along with all the other elements that go with this is a remarkable achievement.”
