STAFF and volunteers have been thanked after administering their 'largest number of vaccinations' on Saturday.

Barrow and Millom Primary Care Network gave their thanks to all of those involved in the Covid-19 vaccination effort.

They said: "A massive thanks to all general practice staff and volunteers from the rotary, we managed to do our largest number of vaccinations yesterday (Saturday) - nearly 1900 people.

"Thanks to all the people who were understanding and patient.

"We are really proud to have done nearly 33,000 vaccinations in Barrow and Millom, with nearly 27,000 of these being first doses. We have also invited all our over 50’s for a vaccination."

They confirmed that they still have first dose appointments and second dose appointments available over the next few weeks.
