Millom Coastguard Rescue Team has welcomed some new additions to its ranks.
On Friday (March 26) the coastguard welcomed new recruits Charlie, Dick, Greg and Paddy, who have just begun their initial training.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic their training will mainly consist of online theory modules, followed by training evenings with experienced team members.
A Millom Coastguard Rescue Team spokesman said: ’This will culminate in a week-long ‘hands-on’ training session and assessment, hopefully sometime in June.
“After this, when they are ‘signed off’ they will become operational within the team. “
The coastguard concluded by wishing the new team members ‘all the best’ and expressed its excitement at working with them.
“We wish them all the best, and look forward to working with them all in the future.”
