Rolls-Royce has confirmed that its jobs in Barrow will be safe despite making huge losses last year.
The company made a loss of £4bn in 2020.
It has blamed the Covid-19 pandemic for the loss.
Rolls-Royce are currently working with BAE on the new Dreadnought class.
In May of last year, Rolls-Royce announced their plans to cut 9,000 jobs.
This equals almost a fifth of its global workforce.
However, the engine-makers have said their submarine domain will be unaffected by these plans.
They say their defence business has remained robust during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The company raised £7.3bn in debt and equity last year.
