A COASTGUARD team has warned beach-goers to call 999 if they see something unusual washed up.
Millom Coastguard is urging the public to take care during this week's strong winds and blustery showers, which may bring in unexpected objects on our beaches.
A spokesman said: "An unexpected discovery of ordnance is exactly what happened in January a few days after a high tide at Bootle Beach, Cumbria, but the first informant did the right thing by, leaving it in position, alerting the Coastguard and giving us an exact location."
