Coronavirus in Cumbria is continuing to steadily decline over a seven-day period.

New figures released by Public Health England at 4pm yesterday show that Barrow has the second highest number of cases with 119.3 per 100,000 people. Allerdale has the highest number, with 143.2 cases per 100,000 people for the past seven days.

South Lakeland currently stands at 43.8 cases per 100,000 people.

Seven-day rates are expressed per 100,000 population and are calculated by dividing the seven day count by the area population and multiplying by 100,000.

For the week ending February 23, the number of new patients admitted with Covid-19 positive status decreased from the previous week in North Cumbria Integrated Care (NCIC) and University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) by -19 per cent and -31 per cent respectively.
