Barrow man banned from contact after harassing girlfriend's mum

A MAN has been made the subject of a restraining order banning him from contacting his partner’s mother.

Jordan Lee Cleasby admitted he harassed Samantha Sim with persistent messages and phone calls before he turned up at her home.

The 26-year-old defendant had been trying to contact his partner following a ‘tiff’ between the pair.

Cleasby, of Dundonald Street in Barrow, admitted that he harassed the mum on October 22 when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court. See more.

 

Prolific Barrow thief in dock again after stealing Joop aftershave from Asda

 

A PROLIFIC shoplifter has found himself again before a court.

Marc Woods has been convicted of shoplifting again he stole items from Asda in Barrow.

The 43-year-old admitted shop theft when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court.

Woods, of Abbey Road in Barrow, stole Joop aftershave and a Joop gift set, together worth nearly £80, from the Walney Road supermarket on October 22. See more.

 

Banned driver stopped by police in Abbey Road in Barrow after friend's 'call for help'

A banned motorist was caught by police driving to help a friend in need, a court heard.

Sean Danny Lee McStravick, 29, was previously banned from getting behind the wheel.

He ended up in court after he was stopped by police on patrol while driving in Barrow on January 27. See more.

 

Barrow takeaway delivery driver three times the limit caught at Tesco

A TAKEAWAY delivery driver has been banned from the road after he was caught drink driving by police in a supermarket car park.

Veselin Muhtarov was found to have been nearly three times over the alcohol limit after he was arrested by police at Tesco in Barrow's Hindpool Road.

At South Cumbria Magistrates' Court the 32-year-old, of Ainslie Street in Barrow, was given a hefty ban from getting behind the wheel. See more.

 

Driver denies taking car and crashing in Millom

A MAN has been accused of taking a car without its owner's consent and failing to stop after being involved in an accident with three others cars.

Blake McPherson is alleged to have taken the Seat Ibiza and committed the offences in Millom on August 29 2020.

The 27-year-old, of no fixed abode, was also charged with driving without a valid licence or insurance.

He denied the charges when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court and is due to face Preston Crown Court ahead of trial on March 26.

 

Barrow man granted more time to complete unpaid work

A MAN has been granted an extra six months to complete unpaid work handed down by a court.

Jack Ethan Barr, 23, of Hood Street in Barrow, successfully applied for extra time to complete the order for 180 hours’ unpaid work at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court for driving while banned, which was imposed in May 2020.

 

Barrow man accused of possessing cocaine and diazepam to face court

A MAN is due to appear in court after he was charged with possession of two drugs.

Philip Atkinson is alleged to have had class A drug cocaine in his possession on October 14.

The 35-year-old, of Gloucester Street in Barrow, has also been accused of possessing diazepam, a class B drug, on the same date and is due to appear before South Cumbria Magistrates' Court on March 1.

 

Barrow drug driver fined by South Cumbria Magistrates' Court

A BARROW woman has been fined for drug driving, a court heard.

Shannon Louise Heath, 23, of Cross Street admitted to driving on the A590 near Dalton, when over the limit for a drug, namely benzoylecgogine, on August 7, 2020.

South Cumbria Magistrates' Court fined her £120, ordered her to pay a victim surcharge of £34, costs of £85, and disqualified her for 12 months.
