Pop stars from a popular British girl band are among those backing a fundraising raffle which will see one lucky winner gain the keys to an Ulverston home.

Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon of Atomic Kitten are supporting Cumbrian family the Wilkinsons as they raffle off their home with £5,000 in cash on top while raising money for Neuroblastoma UK.

The family are aiming to raise £40,000 for the charity by raffling off the £180,000 house, two years after three-year-old Oonagh’s shock cancer diagnosis.

Oonagh was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of just 19 months, undergoing surgery at Manchester Children’s Hospital to have two tumours removed.

Mother-of-three Samantha Wilkinson said: “Ticket sales are doing really well, we are really happy with where they are at this point.

“We have six weeks left and we are nearly at the halfway point of ticket sales now. We know from other house raffles that ticket sales speed it the closer they get so we are really happy with where we are at.

“There’s been huge support. Liz McClarnon from Atomic Kitten made a video for us on Instagram and I recorded a podcast with Natasha Hamilton from Atomic Kitten a couple of weeks ago and she has been really supporting us.

“It’s so nice to have people on board with the idea. We have been really fortunate with the support that we have had.

“We just need to keep going and people need to keep buying tickets.”

The family have also seen online support from singer Jenny Frost and funnyman Alan Carr.
