Readers of The Mail have reacted to Time to Talk Day 2021.

Thursday marked Time to Change's annual Time to Talk Day, which encourages people to end the stigma surrounding speaking out about their problems and asking for help.

This year’s theme for Time to Talk Day was‘the power of small’ and aims to serve as a reminder that one small conversation can make a big difference not only to those suffering; but in driving a change in attitudes to destigmatise mental health.

Statistically, one in four people will experience a mental health problem in any given year.

If the implications associated with the current Covid-19 pandemic are considered, inevitably this figure could rise.

Dalton lad commented: "Social media has a lot to answer for plus the rich, talentless so called 'icons' that young girls try and emulate. But many seemingly ordinary people suffer silently until it's too late. Genuine suicide can never be prevented nor predicted. There will always be cries for help or just attention seeking."

Sadly they don't understand that many of the images on FB, Instagram etc are not real, they are either airbrushed, photoshopped or whatever. It would be great to see the children/teens of today just try to be the best version of themselves they can be, instead of trying to achieve the impossible and making themselves miserable in the process. Celebrate being themselves!"
