A NEW maize maze is coming to Ulverston this year.

Cumbrian Cow Maize Maze is aiming to open at the start of the summer holidays.

Anna and Tom Stable, who work on the dairy farm behind the Cumbrian Cow Ice Cream shop, will be running the maze and hope it will provide enjoyment to people of all ages.

“Having two young boys, we know what it’s like trying to keep them entertained during the holidays,” Anna said.

“Obviously, many people are not going on holiday at the moment, so they will be looking for activities closer to home.

“We hope that it will be a fun activity for all age groups to enjoy.”

Alongside a trail, the maize maze will offer puzzles to work out as well as providing knowledge to its participants.

With the maize maze being located next to the shop, based at Edge Hill farm, residents will also have the chance to enjoy an ice cream during their trip.

Anna revealed that the idea has been in the making for around four years now.

She said: “It is something that we have talked about a few different times.

“We have grown maize on the farm to feed the cows for the past four years.

“We thought it was a good opportunity to diversify alongside the ice cream and thought the two would work together quite nicely.

“People coming for an ice cream might want an activity to do, pass an hour or two in a field and solve a few puzzles whilst on the trail.”

Cumbrian Cow Ice Cream is run by Anna’s mother-in-law, Denise Stable.

Established in 2016, the parlour uses dairy produce from their farm to produce their iconic, fresh taste.

The shop offers customers ice cream, milkshakes, waffles, sundaes, cakes and coffee.
