A PLAN making up a major programme of works by BAE has been approved.

Barrow Council has given the green light to amend a planned extension to Devonshire Dock Hall with two new buildings.

BAE had asked to change the previously approved plans to allow for removal of 3000mm inner brick wall from the western boundary of the site and replace it with a 3000mm tall steel palisade fence.

The plans form part of a £300 million upgrade to the shipyard to deliver Dreadnought submarines.
