A WOMAN is due to appear in court after she was charged with drug driving on a major road.

Hannah Woodend is alleged to have driven her BMW on the A590 near Arrad Foot with a THC, a breakdown product of cannabis, in her system.

The 20-year-old, of Burton Road in Carnforth, is alleged to have 3.9 micrograms of the substance in a litre of blood, over the legal threshold of 2ug.

The defendant is due to face the charge at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court, where she will appear on January 26.
