Cumbria’s schools have announced that they need 1500 laptops for their pupils to access remote learning from home.
Since the third national lockdown was announced earlier this month, primary and secondary schools have been closed, with students engaging in home learning instead.
Schools have only remained open to pupils who are vulnerable or if their parents are key workers.
However, with 1500 laptops needed, businesses and individuals are now being asked to donate laptops for use by pupils without this equipment at home.
Laptops can be new or used but must be fully functional, meet a minimum specification, and have all data wiped before donation.
The minimum specification states that it must be a laptop and includes Intel Dual Core i3 processor and 4GB RAM.
If you could support this initiative please email education.tcg@cumbria.gov.uk with contact details and an outline of your offer.
You will then be contacted to for a discussion.
