BARROW'S MP believes President Joe Biden will have difficult challenges ahead as his first term in office begins as the 46th Commander and Chief.
Biden, who is the oldest ever president, was sworn into office on January 20.
"Joe Biden takes up his new job with a stack of very difficult issues on his desk, most notably around the response to Coronavirus in the US," said MP Simon Fell.
"The challenges of rolling out a vaccination programme without a centralised and connected healthcare system is vast.
"The other big issue is, of course, climate change.
"I’m very glad that President Biden will be re-joining the Paris Climate Accords as a priority.
"I believe his first international meeting will be with the Prime Minister before the G7 in Cornwall.
"Our two countries have so many common interests and I’m sure that the relationship will continue to be strong."
