A BARROW teen who has captured the heart of residents in the town and beyond has professed he is 'the greatest showman in the whole wide world' ahead of his new weekly performances.
Harrison Holmes, 19, is inviting everyone to join him for 'Harrison's Greatest Show' every Saturday throughout lockdown.
He is currently shielding because of lung damage and long term medical problems he suffered from being born prematurely weighing 1lb.
Harrison Holmes said: "I like entertaining people. I am the greatest showman in the whole wide world."
His mum, Jo Holmes said: "It is his main mission in life to entertain people.
"We did a practise run last Saturday just to see how it would go.
"As a family , that we want to thank each and everyone of you that supported Harrison on his live gig, it's so much appreciated as it's definitely brought back that spark in our Harrison, it's so sad seeing him struggle with no routine, hopefully you all get as much out of this as Harrison and his family do.
"Harrison's also lost his dear nanna in these bad times so it all helps so much."
The idea for the weekly show came about when Leonard Cheshire youthability's Les McLeese wanted to inspire Harrison.
He said: "Harrison Holmes is a member of Leonard Cheshire youthability. His favourite passion at our group is singing and he even sings out the young peoples names at register.
"Throughout lockdown one Harrison entertained the people of Furness and further afield with songs of hope and joy.
"He also raised £1,000 for our Help for Carers appeal on his journey.
"When lockdown three began we thought that barrow needs some cheering up and also Harrison himself as he was finding this lockdown harder than most.
"As youth workers it is our job to encourage and provide opportunities for our young people to access.
"We asked Harrison if he was willing to take part in a weekly showcase online.
"He was over the moon to do this and we are assisting him to facilitate this.
"Well done Harrison and we look forward to your weekly shows."
To watch Harrison live, visit 'Harrison's Greatest Show' on Facebook at 7pm on Saturday.
