A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for parts of south Cumbria this week.
The Met Office has predicted ice today, rain tomorrow, and snow on Thursday, all of which have come with yellow weather warnings.
The yellow weather warning, the lowest that can be issued and the Met Office has said there is a chance of a period of heavy snow across this region.
Barrow and Millom are not said to be affected, but the majority of South Lakeland is included in the warning.
What to expect:
- There is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel
- There is a slight chance that some rural communities, mainly those at higher elevations, could become cut off
- There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.
