FIRE crews rescued a 'person' stuck on ice during a training exercise.
Ulverston Fire Station has been preparing for the colder weather by simulating an ice rescue on the canal.
The crews used a dummy to simulate rescuing a person stuck on Ulverston canal using a sled.
A spokesman said: "The ice is incredibly dangerous at the moment and we urge everyone to stay off.
"The dummy that was rescued in this session was not harmed... he has been through many incidents over the years and enjoys being involved in exciting incidents and rescues."
