POLICE have confirmed that the body of a woman was found in the marshes at Grange-over-sands at around 11.20am yesterday (December 19).

Cumbria Constabulary said: "Formal identification has not yet taken place and inquiries are ongoing.

"The circumstances are not believed to be suspicious at this stage."

This follows reports from yesterday that a multi-agency search involving police, ambulance, mountain rescue, and coastguard services which was stood down at 2pm.
