PLANS to add one K2 family glamping pod for holiday accommodation at a hotel have been refused.
The proposed pod, to be sited at Wilsons Arms in Torver, would be 5.8 metres long, 3.47 metres wide and three metres high with a curved roof constructed Decra ‘Oberon’ cladding.
Matthew Mayvers of Caterkwik submitted the application which was supported by Torver Parish Council.
The Lake District National Park Authority refused the application stating 'it would harm the character and appearance of the locality by introducing a visually incongruous and inappropriate structure that would be detrimental to to the character and quality of the environment'.
They did not believe the economic benefit outweighed the identified harm.
