PLANS for 10 six metre lighted columns in the proposed new car park of the Swan Hotel in Newby Bridge have been refused by the Lake District National Park Authority.
The hotel submitted additional plans for their new wing to have landscaping done as well as more external lighting.
The authority said the landscaping complied with the current conditions but refused the lighting application.
This is an additional application associated with the plan for a new wing to house a swimming pool, spa and 28 hotel rooms, which is still going ahead.
