A MAN accused of causing the death of three members of the same family is facing Christmas behind bars after a court hearing.

David Logan appeared at Preston Crown Court yesterday, where a custody time limit was extended from December 24 to April 30.

Mr Logan, 47, is charged with three counts of causing death by dangerous driving after a crash in which a father and his two children died in Dalton earlier this year.

The family dog also died.

The defendant, of Broughton Road in Dalton, denies the charges and is due to stand trial next year on April 26.

He is alleged to have caused the death of Joshua Flynn, 37, his son Coby-Jay, 15, and daughter Skylar, 12.

The family members, along with their beloved dog Troy, were killed while out for a Father’s Day walk when they were hit by a Peugeot 206 on Abbey Road.

In a statement released by the Flynn family at the time of the incident, they paid tribute to the ‘doting dad’ and his children.

The family said their world had been ‘turned upside down’ and had been left ‘heartbroken’
