FESTIVE fun is on the bill after a Santa trail and virtual market was announced for Christmas in Longtown.

The event is due to take place on December 20 at 1pm with time slots for households selling out fast.

Numbers have been limited because of coronavirus social distancing regulations.

A number of local businesses are also advertising their festive wares on the Facebook page, in the form of a ‘virtual market’.

It’s the same organisers who staged the Halloween Pumpkin Trail in the town and who decided they wanted to do something for children in the town during the pandemic.

Another children’s event is a Christmas Drawing Competition for youngsters up to 11 years old.

A spokeswoman for the event said: “We’d love you to join us again for some festive family fun.

“We hope to repeat the success of the Pumpkin Trail with a Santa theme to allow the children some Christmas fun.

“The funds raised from selling ‘stalls’ to local traders on Facebook will pay for treats for all children at the end of the trail.

“Due to the current restrictions we are only able to book one household per time slot.

“Once your time slot is confirmed please go to the event page and click going as all information regarding start point etc will be posted in the event rather than on the market page.
