Barrow MP Simon Fell has congratulated a Barrow headteacher.
This follow as Kevin McGoldrick, headteacher at St Pius X Catholic Primary School, was nominated for a national award by Mr Fell on Monday.
The Openreach Community Connector Awards require every MP in the UK to nominate constituents who have helped their community during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Mr Fell said: “Congratulations to Mr McGoldrick of St Pius X School in Barrow, who was the overwhelming choice of local people to be put forward for an Openreach Community Connector Awards nomination.
“The work he and his team have done, both during and before lockdown, to help their community and to make sure that children, staff, their families and the local residents are kept safe has been remarkable. It shows what an asset Mr McGoldrick is to our community.”
Each nominee will be judged by a panel of Openreach engineers.
The winners will be announced in the new year.
