A SUPERMARKET has chosen an Ulverston hospice as its charity of the year.
Marks and Spencer at the Beehive Business Park in Ulverston has announced that St Mary's Hospice will be its charity of the year due to its efforts to 'make a difference' in the community.
St Mary's Hospice said it is always grateful for the support they receive from the local community and corporate partners.
Katy Mellor, Section Manager at M&S Ulverston Foodhall, said: "We’ve chosen St Mary's Hospice as our charity of the year because they’re a fantastic local cause making a difference in our community.
"We have a number of colleagues who have seen first-hand the incredible work the Hospice does to support patients – some of whom have been their loved ones.
"Over the next 12 months we’ll be working hard to raise as much funds as possible for the Hospice.
"There’s a brilliant auction taking place in December with the main prize being a weekend holiday cottage stay and we’ll be donating a ‘welcome hamper’ full of delicious M&S goodies to meet the lucky guests on their arrival."
