A VEGAN and vegetarian cafe in Barrow is getting ready to welcome customers again.

Sweet Pepper Cafe is a hugely popular venue based on Dalton Road which has won awards and accolades.

The restaurant has successfully applied to Barrow Council for a pavement licence and an old bin outside the premises has been removed. Barrow's Business Improvement District had supported their application.

A spokesman said: "Mig Carbonell and his team wanted to create a nice pavement environment for people to enjoy their plant based foods. "The bin had previously obstructed the pavement cafe area, so it is was great for the team and the customers to finally get it removed."

The vegan eatery, which only opened in April last year, was named as the top choice in Barrow on Tripadvisor based on reviews by restaurant-goers.

Not only this, they have also been honoured with a global award after a lengthy process from being nominated to being judged by the Lux Life Magazine's panel.

They were so honoured and humbled to have been one of the sixty-four recipients, which was an incredible achievement considering they had only been in business for just over seven months at the time. The Sweet Pepper Cafe is currently available for deliveries.
